Abstract

This article reflects on the relationship between the experience of the Holy Spirit which defines Pentecostalism and theological education which has normally been associated with the academic impanation of theology.   I will argue that the Pentecostal/charismatic movement has always been suspicious of academic theological education on the basis   of the argument that it often neglects spiritual experience by imparting head knowledge to the neglect of matters of the Spirit. In the same vein members of the historic mission churches-both Catholic and Protestant, have often chided Pentecostals for neglecting theological education preferring 10 build churches and provide leadership on the basis of experience
